We are at the place in biological understanding that we can reshape living organisms, our environment and even what is means to be human using genetic engineering. This power makes us Amateur Gods. I’m Jo Zayner, a genetic biohacker. I have a PhD in Biophysics and Biochemistry from the University of Chicago and I worked at NASA for a few years in their Synthetic Biology program. Now I run a company called The ODIN, we sell kits to teach people hands-on genetic engineering that they can do in their homes. In this story-letter(it’s not really a newsletter because I don’t focus on current events. I write about all the crazy and surreal experiences in my life on the cutting edge of biomedicine and genetics.
